I had this problem with a jump drive randomly one day. never found out what caused it. But it hasn't happened again, (I gen really always boot with them in) and there are no problems with my jump drives. ... When life gives you lemonade, I just drink it. :P
Never played it/heard of it :s OverDose is a free game thats pretty much RtCW in next gen clothes. We didn't really like the direction ET:QW took sadly. But more a reimagining of the setting, quite different. It just fits the gameplay perfectly, plus shows off the engine.
Pretty much all of our contracts are "next gen" these days so you should have some stuff in your portfolio that includes normal and specular maps. If you are applying for an environment artist position, Zbrush is not a big deal but it is practically mandatory for a character artist to know Zbrush these days.
nah, what you need to fix is the god damn specularity on those bricks. I hate that "next gen" look where everything looks wet. same problem that Sage had over in his sketchbook.. and I believe he solved it by making his normals less noisy.
You can find an older gen DigiRebel for under 500 with a kit lens. There is software out there that will control the camera ranging from $30~$70. The kit lens is fine, but not so good on fine detail at a certain frequency. You won't notice it till you see comparative shots.
Hey Jesse, you crazy mofo! The character's looking great, I'm also curious at the Gears of War workflow. I've been doing some next gen stuff...also been drooling over their work, it'd be nice to see how they go about it. Looking cool! Gav
I think if you decide to do a hi poly for normal map then jack up the polys on your low poly....1000 tris seems a lil low....u could def go as high as around 10 000 if u wanna do a next gen type character
[ QUOTE ] if it does get completed, then it would open the possibility to have a wide range of furry/animal(only canine and feline) models that other people can contribute to ut2k4. [/ QUOTE ] isn't that already bad enough as it is? well in one place anyway. I blame the Gen Mo'Kai skeleton.
Textures are now fully built. Just a case of cleaning/tweaking. Seems wrong that the gloss and reflection maps are so similar but it's giving me good results, looks really nice when rotating around it. That's the thing about these next gen assets, not sure a still image does it justice :)
Polycount is ADD. There's an epidemic in Threads derailed. Just realize that this industry is competitive, and you can either man up and do it, or slack and stay way way behind. and next gen is going to get HARDER. so, stop wasting time, put some music on and do it. end of story.
