Wow, this is looking awesome for only a few days' work! I'd consider making the yellow fabric a separate floating piece, since it's pretty distinctly separate in the concept. Did you do any sort of post-process effect to get that slight outline effect?
If you're planning on baking normal maps for a low poly, you can model the indentations separately, float them over the calves (but inside your cage) and they'll turn up on the normal maps. Or just remodel or retopo those calves like you said.
EDIT: Decided the main thing will be a mansion type house which will be the main feature. I'm using the flagpost for that dock thread I made but with an exstention which is gonna have chains and a wooden sign. There will still be the mech floating cct camera there and the sign. Edited backstory.
yeah, but smoothing groups take longer to set up and take longer to edit. I could also add the floating rollout to the Editable Poly but then It would just be harder to access. No it won't be free, it will cost more then a normal script, because it's a plugin but not that much more.
the relax tool or indeed the modifier if you want finer control are pretty handy for getting rid of lumpy loops. there's a few relax/regularize scripts floating around as well that might help. I often end up rebuilding sections that get messy though..
haha yes, nice ! :D My only critic would be that the black pipe is kinda floating and clipping through the two different parts to where it's connected, without any plausible transition/fixation. Otherwise it's a bit noisy and aliased but the design works :) nice job
Delete all the edges, which ones are not defining the mesh's shape. And use floating geometries for the sub elements. And delete the back side of your floor.I personally would using simple planes for the floor.or a more optimized version: one plane, with cutouts for the dented meshes.
The model needs some clean up. You should collapse verts like in the red cirkles, and move them to the corners. Also, you can save you a lot of tri's if you'd make the windows a floating geometry (loose element, not cutted out in the building).
Wow... I don't think you need any more practice, these look stunning! Are you gonna bake / create low poly of one of these? Just one thing: what exactly is that thing that floats above the turret in the last 3 images (m3 halftrack)?
acc: So that's a girl this time? I thought that's a man. Well, "man" by Final Fantasy standards. The face closeup definitely looks like "male FF character" to me. The floating weapons look like the Ruler Sword from Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance to me.
