Congrats on finishing! I think you could tweak some things to look more like the concept and it would help the overall look. We're losing the details of your walls and other rock engravings, making them slightly darker would bring them back. The concept also has some cracks that are adding interest. The lighting and shadow…
I am facing a bit of a conundrum here. To illuminate my indoor scene I'm using Stationary Directional Light with indirect lighting intensity of 40, and Static Sky Light with indirect lighting intensity of 2 that captures an HDR cubemap . The light comes through windows and illuminates the room with light bounces from walls…
Changed shadow color, tweaked foliage more, modified post-process, added a slight emissive to the windows so they aren't black, and changed the lights up a little bit. Also as far as who the art test was for and posting the concept while I did get approval to post this on my portfolio and don't feel comfortable spreading…
really good now, I actually think it was better/more like the concept before the gradient layer was added. The white skin looks a bit too eye catching / bright a slight browny green tint to make it less bright would be great. Its pretty much done now, nice job! :) You could set up a nice lighting scene and get some beauty…
Looking nice! really like what you have here. Good variation in materials and nice lighting. I agree with Wesley, it's looking like no-one has set foot in that subway. I would suggest adding grime, scrapes, cracks, worn paintwork, even slight rubbish that's been left on the floor would help a lot to make it more realistic.…
Nope they are not ... From what I understand, The point of Bent Normals (OS or TS, that's irrelevant) is to introduce a very subtle shift in the normals calculation, causing a slight bending of the light around the corners of objects resulting in a subtle, fake "AO-like" effect in realtime. It's a clever trick but it is…
I took a look at the trailer of The Cave, and I noticed this: The three blocks are very similar, but not exactly the same. It looks as though they placed a lot of modular blocks in place, with a slight offset along the depth/z-axis, and then sliced the blocks at a certain distance. Whether this slicing is done through…
I caught some vids on youtube last night that placed a lot of blame on AAA greedy investors. It seems they cause huge delays in approvals costing a veritable fortune, cause too much interference with art direction. Not being gamers the direction is often unwarranted or incorrect. There was even talk of huge budgets…
It's in an early stage, but here's what I'm currently working on. It's an A34 Comet, a late WW2 British tank. Working to get a better lighting rig than my previous Jagdpanther model (this is a slight improvement but still a way to go) and have been practicing with methods of creating metallic weld lines around parts of the…
Update 2/24: - Brought out the stains on the arch a bit more. - Pulled back the rust on the mailbox slightly. (It gets lost in its own occlusion if pulled back too far.) - Added a slight parallax effect to the ground. - Made the source of the ivy more obvious. - Reduced the exposed brick on the wall. - Warmed the lighting.…
