@jewski-bot So I did what you said, and removed a lot of non visible polygons to lower the count ahaha XD 35k poly total now. Still need to do the other roofs, the backalley, the two side buildings, the post and trashbin, the buildings in the background, the ground shocks XD so many hahaha I hope I'm doing alright… -

As Obscura says, look up seamless textures. Seamless means that when you put two of them immediately next to each other they don't have a sharp "seam", i.e. they blend together. You can make a quick test seamless texture in Photoshop by using Filter > Render > Clouds. Apply this image to a plane in max/maya/unreal/wherever… -

$350 is a steal for the talks they have lined up. Us early birds paid $200 in groups of 5+. The only dilemma I have is which workshops to skip. The organizers crammed in wayyyy too much awesome... -

SSD are very expensive, it does not compensate very much nowadays. To have a small part of what you see in that youtube video you need to waste too much money, and you will not have a practical PC :) . and you saw the dude? OMG that's what we call a FREAK. Use just one cheap SSD and tell how good are for those expensive… -

Definitely go for 1440p its just so much better than 1080p. Selling my 4k monitor because its just too dense and I have really good eyesight, really can not recommend 4k on anything under 32" especially not considering most programs are not ready for proper scaling, including windows. 1440p is the best of both worlds right… -

for references i have been using picasa for a long time now. i have about 35k images or so - not sure if that's considered lots or barely any - organised in a folder structure by subject, sometimes grouped per project. i don't use tagging (it has that though, just too lazy to think of tags really) but just favor the really… -

is your computer from 1986? P100 w/ Voodoo2 (from 1998 ) can go 45fps with 3500 polys onscreen with 5 256x256 textures on 640x480 -

The current gen was nearly a fail for MS and Sony. They lost billions of dollars for the first few years. Nintendo ate their lunch. The traditional retail market has been in decline for the past few years, the only growth is in connected products…
