This. And it was already mentioned, but read the two tutorials on the Toolbag site and check out Andrew Maximov's videos on Youtube, he does a nice summarization for artists. The blog posts for Remember Me are a little more tech oriented, but check those out too.
Thanks that helped still doesnt look quite right, I think using a tileable generic texture will have to be the way... Im creating material templates for software that uses UDK unfortunately it doesnt support cubemaps :( Bummer!
Yes 3ds Max is what i'm using. So the only way for me to do it is for the objects to be attached... bummer... Means i have to re-align all the little buggers all over again! Ah well...
Here you go: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b3w2chj6fg3lv57/convex_concav_setup.py?dl=0 I will be trying Farfarer's way also to see which gives the best results. Just a bummer we cant use a normal map for this.
It would really suck if it was a dream, Cobb said so himself that his wife's projection is but a pale (albeit perfect) imitation of wife...and he wants the real thing. Imagine finding out that your children are projections, bummer.
I remember Gilliam had been slated to Direct Good Omens. But the project was canceled for some reason. Which is really a bummer, because I think of all director Gilliam could definitely do Gaiman justice.
Only if its no trouble, Eric! I'm just playing around with it at the moment, it seems like a pretty quick alternative, its just a bummer about those weld/close popups, and how you cant join 2 verts that arent end points.
O what a bummer, i just realized, my normal map of rusted parts (not the whole car) is inverted, so that it acts like there was hole insted of a bulge. DOH. thanks for all constructive criticism, really, i couldn't have wish for more.
This sucks, have you guys had problems submitting your work? I've been trying for over an hour now...I missed the dead-line because of it, it'll be a bummer if they don't still except submitions because their servers couldnt handle the bandwith...
Thanks for the support guys! It's a bummer that me Asa and gamedev (team butterpants) didn't get into the finals but it doesn't really matter, we had fun doing the comp and enjoyed competing against you guys. :) Congrats to all the finalists!
