Hey, something I agree 100% with Greevar on, imagine that! Not only all of this, but the insane raise in tuition cost over the last 10-20 years, while wages have plateaued, its just ridiculous. $120K for a "game design" degree? FFS.
other vote for Canada, Montreal is a pretty kick ass place to live, but it does get cold, but no where close to as bad as other parts of Canada get for the cold. here in Halifax atm and it is somehow -20, and damp out, which defies logic.
I just apply a gradient() to a diffuse channel, and set it to Object Space, instead of explicit UV or world space. Then I use render to texture to get the map. The script isn't complicated at all, but takes 15-20 steps down to one.
If you want a quick start into anatomy that work pretty well, buy the rafael grassetti's gumroad lesson. It's really really great, and the video last for about 20-30min. Just watch em everyday and try to get better, and it'll be ! gl !
damn kio ;) .. yeah im a little bit torn between texturing and painting.. for me a mix of both make sense, but when i want to do about 20 buildings, id have to compare wich one saves me time !
I had a bike stolen from the parking lot at Raven just before I left. It was a nice cannondale frame that my uncle bought like 20 years ago. I had it for about 10 years. I miss that bike :\
I only do this as a hobby, its expensive but I so enjoy it, 95% is personal projects other 5% is usually for church projects (motion graphic type stuff). Never sold anything, primary work is in IT (Networking) for over 20 years.
@Jeremiah - Thanks dude! Ill try and do a little texture breakdown for you once im alittle happier with it (there is some unfinished/hacky stuff in the textures at the moment :D ). @Sean - Ahaha it needs a good 20-30% more flare :D
Ya it is really monotone right now. The post processing effects are actually desaturating the scene by about 20%, then swinging the color over to green. I am working on things that will break up that monotone color though. Stay tuned for more updates :-)
Damn it, if only you'd showed this off a couple weeks ago. I had a model I could've used this on more than anything. EDIT: Whoooooa. This is great, but I don't think it's 20 great. Guess I'll stick with snapping to shapes.
