Very rough concept for the Desert Eagle "Void Hawk", intended as an entry for the CS:GO competition, drawing inspiration from Alien(s), Bladerunner and Space: 1999, the unremarkable colour scheme and overly utilitarian look should fit Mil-spec rarity well. Gunsmith will be the finish style.
Simple feedback : make sure to have a "show all" button. This enables creative uses of the stamps, since more often that not, something can be used to great effect for something it wasn't intended for. You might also want to include the corresponding normalmaps to download - these can be extremely useful.
I'm not sure which problem that's intended to address. I'm working on the graphics for an iPhone game. For optimization purposes we're trying to keep everything using the same material. I haven't used the transfer maps feature much but I can't think what it would do here.
I did submit it though, but I'll keep that in mind! I have a lot of thing to explore  I intend it to be like an AoE heal impact like Kindred's R, so it is kinda tricky to create a buff application for sure. There's still a lot of thing for me to learn.
Thx for the replies guys. @rooster: i know the hands are shit, i intended to fix them in zbrush, but maybe i´ll do it in 3dsmax before. @Emil: Thx for the great paintover, will definetly look into that, the shoulderpart was more then obvious(why didn´t i see that myself?)
I suppose the color pass feels softer and comic styled (I usually spend extra time on the color map). But I was intending this to be my next-gen piece... I think I ought to render it differently (e.g. give her a softer look) thanks for the suggestions!
I'm starting to hear the Scrat thing a lot. Oh, well. The polygon count on him is 7,083 and the tri-count is 13,946. I'm using Maya right now and I'm intending him for animation. I was also thinking of adding fur, but I don't have that started yet.
Yeah, collapse and pulling edgeloops out is the way I tend to go. Seneca's unbevel script is really good for it, too - stops volume being lost when you collapse bevels out. Auto stuff only really serves to screw over anything you intended :/
I'm going for science, energy guns and big guns.. if the games anything like fallout then theres going to be some high-tech looting shenanigans later in the game and I intend to have the hacking skills to cope.. all the good stuffs bound to be behind electronic lock :P
Two Listen I appreciate the feedback. You raise a very good point about the "wow" factor somewhat stagnating the visual side of things this day and age and in this case semantics is definitely not my friend. However I do believe that we are to blame for that at large, because most of the beauty elements apart from scale…
