Did a sketch over to brainstorm ideas for what could be going on in the back of the house. Learned a bit about lift nets, I think it'd be fun to have one that caught some large predator to add to the precariousness of the house. Not sure if I want to stay with the bear vs something more spiny to echo the sharp rock things… -

Stick at it man, you got some skills. I really like that portrait (seriously good) - I don't think it needs to be taken any further than it already is. I'm a huge Gradius nut and this is looking very, very impressive! Would love to see this textured! A bit more inspiration for the interior: the intro video for Gradius II on the PC Engine (TurboGrafx.) It shows a scene of the cockpit computers booting, a few detail shots of the weapon systems and a launch from the hangar.… -

@nordahl: Thanks for the crits. The water's actually meant to be ice. I used these concepts when deciding on making the border pretty sharp. I may soften it up a tiny bit in future but it will still be pretty sharp. I adjusted the fog colour a little. Is this what you meant? I also made the transition between snow/no snow… -

Hey, Cheers MisterSande :) I sculpted all the bits using combination of Zspheres, Dynamesh and insert mesh tools. The nitted material stuff was done using a Tileable alpha with the surface noisemaker function in Zbrush. Created Poly groups and then Projected the texture and surface detail to polypaint and mesh. The Steam sales are nuts. I've got 10 games I've bought on Steam that I'm waiting to get through. I think I will eventually but I also like playing World of Tanks a lot (never ending) and have 3 games to get through on Desura as well. Need more time! Ah well at least I don't have kids yet. -

these are amazing! My only crit would be that ducky? (the little green one) and the t rex have really repetitive noise patterns. Specially when it comes to the body. IMO i would try to add some variation in there so you can break up the body noise. But thts just me nit picking stuff. Overall great body of work!
