the tris however can intersect any others ? not just the ones around a poly, which makes it harder, cause you basically need a "test every tris with every other" then and for that you need to check if one vert lies on the opposite side of the tris plane, and then also check if the edges connected to that vert, which are…
I feel like the boxy facade and the nice lovely vaulted arches of the interior are from two different buildings. Shouldn't the front of the building have arches as well? It'll show off the interior better too. Right now, it's like there's this rectangular slab of trim covering the front.
This is a really great model! I can't really think of much to criticise with this. Perhaps the golden trim on the model could be altered a little. It looks a bit too yellow, bright and clean compared to the rest. This kind of colour and finish might look more fitting: Great job anyway!
Thanks a lot for the feedback @Goldo_O it makes a lot of sense and i can see how it works better with those tweaks, especially the collar and the gold trim at the bottom. yeah the shadow was way too dark and i'll have to tweak the intensity in marmoset, but good call on that one too :)
The best news for me from that link is that they're planning a trilogy now, and not a single film. I must have missed when they announced that. I was always a little dissapointed by the Akira anime because it trimmed so much of the story. I remember the comic being SUPER dense.
Yea model it into the high since it looks like it has quite a few areas that are uniquely different. OR Simplify it for the sake of a game and use a strip of geometry to trim out everything. The strip would have a horizontal tile applied to it, probably just the top edge of your material sheet.
I wasn't sure what type of trim to put on it, my ref image made it look like marble. Should I dumb down the marble pattern or change it completely? For sure I'll be adding some stickers or some kind of brand on it as the pattern is pretty static. Thanks
Sry the first Nercis block piece where is says "trims" on page 5. They're are strange curved deco writings on there. How did you bevel those writings, because i have a hard time beveling lettering or symbols. Also are those symbols or writings meshsmoothed?
Sorry for the late work, I have been moving and just got started back on this. Is this basically what I should be going for. I built the basic pillar from a box. Then I took a box chamfered all the sides and instanced it around the pillar to make the trim. Any thoughts or crits?
Really nice clean high poly. I'd suggest a few more small scale details, either bolts, trim, etc. Unless you're going for a super clean final result, you've got a lot of nice large and medium scale details, but not much small stuff for the eye to examine.
