It's not falling apart, it's improving and it's easily the best free painting software around. The problem is the workflow outside of painting leaves a lot to be desired, imo. I still need to have PS open every time I have Krita open. But Krita is outclassing it in panting, that wrap mode is invaluable.
An interesting point, but why use a .mud format, or a .ztl file for that matter. Both are proprietary for their respective applications and hardly what I would call an open format for a pipeline. I'd much rather have a more open and flexible format for pushing my data upstream and downstream in a pipeline.
Looks promising, I'd have to agree with everyone else on the normal mapped paint being too thick. Also it seems like the door opens outward, but how? I think it needs something like an electronic control panel or manual handles to indicate how it would be opened and closed.
Now make it transform! Seriously kick ass work the only thing is the interior is all black which takes the detail work you put into it away but, like steveo53 said. Also love the renders, open hood top, open doors and trunk popped renders would be nice :) .
Im using firefox. If right click on one of the thumbnails on the front page and open in a new tab, then go to the new tab and click on the thumbnails on the left hand side, that tumbnail will open in the first tab (the front page tab). Pretty weird, thought I should let you know.
Yeah I'd definitely make it open to everyone, I don't see why we shouldn't let people respond. I've gotten a few sets in but I also had never modeled before the dota 2 workshop opened, so I might be able to give a different perspective on some questions.
After looking at it, there's a few things I'm afriad of. The plastic cartridges are probably 4x as much as buying it yourself, hopefully you can just open and refill one. It comes with it's own software, we don't know if you can use the open source printing software and easily load your own models.
I'd pick 128-250gb SSD over 16gb of ram for photography. Raw photos can get pretty large and slow to move around and open, being able to open Photoshop in a few seconds is really nice, and a photographer shouldn't be making massive PSD files like video game artists do.
Looking good, but I would also make the hinges at the back stronger. The size of the hinges should be bigger for a chest of that size and it's hard to think those small screws would hold on to the wood if one would try to force the lid open. Could the hinges support the weight of the lid well when the chest is open?
Mm, never used XSI, but I don't think many people create polies in max vertex by vertex. Most common technique is to shift-drag-out polies while having an open edge selected. You can also use the bridge tool to create a poly between 2 open edges.
