First off your models look pretty good. However you really should show some wire frames. As for rendering I don't ambient occlusion renders are bad, however I think if you setup a proper 3 point lighting setup you could really show off your work a lot better. Otherwise keep up the work.
I agree, the double tires are the only thing that catches my eye as being odd. I assume you are going off this image? If you want to keep the double tires I would make them taper off a little bit and maybe move them apart a bit so they read as two separate tires. Other than that this looks great!
The smooth shade button is the wrong way round. when the light is on its off. the actual program is pretty cool. edit:actaully i could be wrong. it give the effect of being smoothed (softer shading) when its off. (voxel mode). i guess the actaul smooth mode is the polymode which seems to have harsher shading. meh anyways…
@rogueNoodle Ah yeah, the navbar at the top never really crossed my mind (I'm so used to using Blogger and using it, that I don't really notice it's there anymore). Anyway, I managed to turn it off! I must say, the site isn't far off now and looks ok (At least until I create my own site in the future). Thanks!
this is a bodybuilder and it is stance where he is tense all the time, to show off muscles is your character a bodybuilder in pose? i guess not more specifically you want to look at your deltoids, they do not behave like that, also pectoralis major looks off, and your trapezius is probably too developed for that body and…
Thanks - getting there... For materials, probably just going off of the original concept. Some bronze metal up on the decorated guards. A rougher metal for most of the other gun... perhaps try and get a couple different tones of this... more of a polished metal for the some of the little details, and perhaps some sort of…
Model the object in one piece then split off the polies belonging to e.g. the arm. hat wouldn't work in Q3A because the segments have to be capped since they move around but when all parts are on one skeleton you can just split them off at an adgeloop. Just make sure all the parts you're going to attach there have these…
Pior, yea, she does have that kinda "Arnold" look (Sorry Guys but she does! ) about her. But for a Quick sketch it was done quite well on the back I think the area in the far right side the angle is just I dunno "off" in a way, but thats the only thing I saw that could have been corrected. Was this off Pad? Or "Wacom"?
It's for a very very large tutorial that I've been working on for some time. An example is that a humans wrist is not a circular crosssection - its a rounded off rectangle. Halfway up the forearm is more penagon shaped. The entire arm has no circular sections, they are more like rounded off rectangles, but they twist…
hmm, i think the specular need some work, and it needs more variation in the dirt. the spec comes off more like "plastic" than "painted metal". maybe tone it down a bit in areas with much dirt. also, some of the shapes are lacking definition somewhat. the edges around the hatches could be sharpened up in the normal, they…
