I typically hate everything Justin makes as well. If you're just starting out, it's one of those things that is going to take some time. As you grow as an artist, your objectivity will increase. It does create rules to follow if you work with OSL, GLSL or MDL. They wont go away. I fear a maya integration will take an other year. There is a lot of precedural shader assignment comming with matX. Its allready in use in a lot of big studios. Its also part of the USD universe. A lot will change in the next years.…
