From the concept I get the idea that the 'lid' opens differently, once the turret has reached it's peak the disc splits and moves along the slides staying flat until it gets to the end; once at the end of the sliders the disc halves can tilt.
Ehh I doubt it, I reckon you're on the money. Regardless I think we've jointly answered OPs answer in a good fashion. Well, this is a very gentlemanly ending to an internet discussion, fancy a beer if you ever end up in London?
In this blender tutorial, of the Animation & Physics series, we see how to create a drop of ink in the water. We use the smoke system that blender provides to create this ink effect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_esgzyPes8&list=PLpPd_BKEUoYjON9U3HlupNnO6mlwBY_iz&index=3
This is a Dodge Viper I am working on for our game. The end result will be cel shaded. Feel free to give me any comments and critiques. This will be the end result, albeit not this low polygon. That was just a placeholder so I could create the shader.
Ahh ok! So there is not any precision tool for this? The best should have been if the end vertices could snap the grid in both ends while scaling the mesh down but i guess thats impossible in MAX! Thanks for your help.i will try that!
^ what he said. While I think there are more env positions overall, and more entry level ones at that. if he likes Animation more then Env art, then he should animate. If you're DAMN good, then people will make a position for you.
Try to get my foilo updated by the end of the week. Hoping to get some crits as I go though it. Here some work that Im working on today (some of it has a lose ends to tie up) "That" environment art test, around 7000 polys at the mo and a raider for a battlestar mod (3000ish polys) I'll update more throughout the week, and…
so I saw this concept on the Concept art for 3D Artists thread and I decided to give it a go! This was the initial concept This is what I ended up with. It still needs a little bit more work, especially the wraps where the handle is but it's at a stage where I'm happy to post it. For any of you who want the shader…
It looks to me that the ends of that bar are attached in the UV and at a 90 degree angle. Add that to the thick edge padding you have and I think that's whats causing it. Try detaching those ends and moving them slightly further away?
Looks really cool, great concept as well. I think the pants are the weakest spot atm, the folds look a bit fake and dont really have a realistic ending(or whatever you call the sleave end on pants) at the feet.
