Yea im totally confused n how this weapon will even function. Is it projectile based? where do you hold it? Take into consideration on how an actual designer would design a gun in the future.
Yes you can but good luck getting the whole thing working in assembly is a pain in the ass and i would recommend a drag n' derp cart. if your going to do it. http://derpcart.com/
press n and change shading to multitexture and press alt z. If you have glsl enabled instead of multitexture, make a material, assign it to the model, add your texture to the model and then enable shadeless.
Hi Zack! Yes, the unreal tool looks really cool. Unfortunately im using Unity :-/ Perhaps I could find some kind of shader that will do this. thanks for your help N
I've seen that in a few models, actually; sandwiching the point bits like knees 'n' elbows. Does it just make the deformation smoother? Or are the added verts utilized for some weight-painting trickery?
Gradient maps for the win. AVOID using multiply with a black n white AO, especially when texturing skin. It's good to get into the habit of changing your AO colours with a gradient map etc.
