I don't have a mesh with dead verts that I can test right now, but isn't convert to editable mesh then back to editable poly clean up all the dead verts?
Hey EarthQuake, I don't think so. Not sure why it was happening, but I've managed to fix it! All I did was convert to edit mesh and then back to edit poly and it smooths fine :)
Thanks, could you explain how to do that?? Edit: Oh I found a tutorial. Let's see if this works! Edit 2: No beans!!! It must be something with my model... Any suggestions??
slipgate = paintthefence = also, I think your shaft is actually growing hairs, paint. Thanks kind of creepy :D edit- lol, I love your edited response, Paint ^_^
You should be able to target weld the vertices, unfortunately i don't know how to do it in Maya Edit: Apparently maya uses Merge, which is found in the edit mesh tab.
If you are working in editable poly, you can select the vertices, look in the command panel under Edit Geometry, and use the Make Planar buttons to align it to the X, Y, or Z axis.
Exit edit mode and clear the document. Make sure your RGB and Z Intensity values are set to 100, then redraw the tool back onto the document and enter edit mode again.
Yes, you did. That's one of the many reasons why there's an EDIT button though. Edit that dang rascal next time instead of making an even more rascal-like post about it!
Yeah now that i look at it, i may have to edit the vertex painting. I will also edit the colors to be more in tone with the rest of the enviroment. Will update soon. Thanks alot for the feedback
If that's the scale you want to go by, then i apologize for telling you to edit the ladder. However, if your trying to recreate the reference image you posted, you need to edit your scale.
