You can just select vertices you want to move and then use (in Edit Mesh menu) the Transform tool. This creates also a history node which you can find in Attribute Editor after applied where you can imput Local Translate values you need. -

It seem to this every time you do a negative scaling with Viewport 2.0. I found that by freezing the transformations after negative scaling solve this problem! Just be sure not to do your negative scaling on a group or you will have to unparent you mesh before freezing them to correct this problem. -

First off, disable double sided rendering in Maya so you can make sure the normals are facing in the correct direction. Secondly, try deleting history and freezing transforms, maya has a tendency to save all sorts of ghost data and it might be exporting the mesh incorrectly because of that. -

found out a bit of the problem. If i would make a simple plain in unity, and use the vertex color. It acctually works. But using my island (which is Uv:ed) is forcing me to move my island to where the pensel works :S. The Pivot is centered, history and transform is fixed. hmmf. -

ya nice little trick, you can also change the dimensions like that, and it;s equivalent to grouping the objects and changing there scale, on a axis. found the tool by accident, thought PS was focused, but maya was focused on my 2nd screen and i got that when trying to do a transform in PS. -

IMO I would probably try and keep the proportions of your sketch cept maybe tad longer arms. Also modeling the hands like you have them at an angle is a little tough especially if you wever freeze transformations. However if you are comfortable then I say go for it! -

Re: Maya: boolean workflow
Thank you very much :) i wasn't aware of the fact, that i'm able to manipulate the source objects for a boolean. I just knew that i was able to transform, scale and rotate them. Fusion looks very powerful as well. I will definitely take a look at it :) how would that work? -

duplicate the skeleton, collapse it's transforms, constrain it to the old skeleton and trnasfer your skin weights to the new skeleton. if you actally need to collapse the controllers on the new one you can but you'll probably find it's not necessary - you simply animate the old skeleton and pull the animation of the new one
