Finally had some time to work on this again! Mostly finished up my major forms for the scene and practice some soft material stuff. Specifically the carpet, beanbag chair, and bed! spend more time establishing primary forms. The proportions seem to be off; try making the head smaller and the shoulders broader. Don't render the face, the darkness inside the visor of the concept is intentional. Not all edges are rolled; you can remove the rolled edges in the breathing holes and the edges of the cheek…
Thanks everyone! This was achieved using lots of alpha cards scattered over the mesh. You could also use groom to achieve the same (and probably better) effect I used a generic skin texture and scaled it down vertically so it gave the impression of cracked and bent leather. So one thing that really stood out to me that hasn't been commented on are the UVs. They are totally fine if you need a quick auto solution, but will be an absolute pain to work on if you have to do any serious texture work. Hi! You could bake some straightened straps down, basically adding some reusable strap parts to the texture atlas, you can then map the lowpoly UVs to. Certainly an option to save texture space if you have many straps. If you array and deform your straps along curves, makes it easy to swap out the base mesh.
