Hey! Sorry for the lack of information! Yes, I have a normal map, and I'm using the default PBR Metallic Roughness material. Here are some pics of the graph. If you need more information please ask for it. Thanks for your time!
Ben, this is really great of you. I'm wondering if you're interested in teaching OSL. It's all the rage these days, and particularly relevant given the broad interest in USD and MaterialX. Another potential avenue could be PBR shader workflow.
Working on clothing texture. Lots of editing to be done. Not happy with the results to far, I believe I have too much micro detail and not enough medium noise. I want a mix of the handpainterly look and realistic pbr.
Looking good! How you finding the pbr workflow? That Ethernet connection at the back needs to be cut in to give it some depth. Considering how far in those sockets go the normal on a flat box doesn't do it justice!
I wouldn't be too concerned with the materials one, as the shaders have changed to be pbr friendly in 3.6. The intro one is quite good, it does cover a couple of tools that have since been removed (the voxel tool for example).
All good answers. The most common use of uv2 is for lightmapping, like you noticed. Another use is baked ambient occlusion for PBR. Another use is for a custom painted mask that blends together multiple tiling textures.
I'll be watching this one, I made that UNSC Prop a half a year ago, here was my result if it helps anybody - http://www.kylebromley.com/kyle-bromley-communication-tower.html Very tempted to re-texture it with PBR in mind.
Thank you very much B_P_L. I wrapped everything and finally thrown something to my artstation. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/RYYbLe And btw, realistic pbr stuff aint for me but your work looks amazing.
@3dcaster I have really only just started to use them for stylized stuff, however this artists seems to have done it with PBR materials. Def check out his portfolio, https://www.artstation.com/artwork/86vOw
Looking very good, would probably look better in a more interesting pbr assuming you're using the white background. I would probably make the black leather just a tad bit darker, but it's very nice. ;)
