This is looking really nice. My only criticism right now would be that there's a lot of damage and dirt in the textures; and I think it's making the scene a little bit noisy and hard to read. It's a bit of a difficult one though, because it does look like everything has been bashed together and salvaged so you would expect… -

Thanks for the input! I went back in and added more wear and damage to try and give that battle scarred look. I messed with the pose a bit but it ended up looking a bit too off for my liking, so I went back and just used the original. Any more c&c would be greatly appreciated! -

Haha yeah, the problem with japanese rentals is that you are not allowed to do any damage to the walls etc, so no paintings or posters for me. Yeah been looking for a chair for quite some time now, even had a thread up some time ago, still not sure which one to go with, but kinda leaning to one of the Aeron chairs. -

I wouldn't expect any damage from a surge if you shut down without issues the night before. But yeah, if you're not using them I recommend a cheap surge braker would help keep your hardware safe. If you've never bought them before make sure it has a braker and not just a power strip. -

Hey Phil, thanks for the feedback. I agree with you about the shins, they do look really bare. I was given a concept to stick to so I'm afraid I can't add anything to them, although I will try and make them a little more interesting, maybe throw some damage onto them or something. -

Because you came across as saying you're going to work 100 hours at your new job to try and prove yourself. People that do that are doing damage and perpetuating abusive game studios. But man, you should leave your retail job, you won't have the stamina to last a month and your work will suffer. -

For uniquely unwrapped objects you can create variation - for instance, take a statue that you are lining a temple path with - you could blend in moss and damaged textures to make them all look unique. if this is realistic pbr then you probably dont want much ao in your textures, just a little is ok or use it where possible to make masks eg dirt or wear or water damage etc. If you want it to look stylised and have strong ao everywhere then thats an art direction choice you can make too. -

i dont know what your talking about, i think the damage on the top of the skull looks good ! what i dont like is whatever is going on at the top of his right eye.. the spot that sticks out lower then the rest.. my eye keeps getting drawn into it and with the dark shadows its hard to understand what it is
