Battle Chasers Garrison fan art. High poly created in ZBrush, low poly in TopoGun, UV's and rigging in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag. Garrison is 27.3k tris with a 2048 texture set and his sword is 2.6k tris with a 2048 texture set, 30k total. Thanks for looking!
I managed to make 2 little WIP's while waiting for the confirmation thingy. Hope that she looks dynamic enough, she's supposed to be landing on to the surface. Maybe I should change the hand around so the sword doesn't look like its at rest. first second WIP
hello peeps. haven't show any progress on this char for good reasons since I reworked her completly (after a few other projects) here's the wip on where I am with this. I'll need to redo the sword and a few other things.
Like the sword! But the helmet looks historically inaccurate to me. Spiky helmet like this one makes me think too much of 1st WW Prussian helmet spike. Good luck, TheMightyKnight http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140143
Deadline is next monday, almost done. The swords need some more work, the other objects are ready for poly painting. After that the only thing that's left is posing him.. I hope the surface detail on the leather armor and clothes is not too subtle?
Finished the buster sword today. I went for a design closer to the original with a mix from dissidia and smash bros 4. Is it usual to have so much free space in the UV map, or should I scale everything up to fit the space?
Gir, I 'completed' that survey a few weeks ago putting in made up guesses (no idea about moba's!) and got in. Turns out I'm not that interested in DotA! :P I'll probably try and enter the comp though making swords is fun.
It's kind of a double-edged sword when looking at final triangulated models. You get a good idea of what to do for the game, but not the source mesh's construction in many cases. Have you tried your hand at the hard surface challenge threads?
First try at hand painting some WoW-esque weapons. I don't really know what to improve on. A bit stuck. Maybe the materials on the sword needs to decide on what they are, cause right now I wouldn't be sure on what it's trying to be.
Yeah well guns, swords, vehicles, characters, its all sort of the same concept. You've gotta plan the system and make sure everything lines up. Concept it, block it out, make sure it works, then worry about the actual assets.
