Oh wow, you have collapsed lvl 1 turbosmooth or something. Makes it much harder to fix. I would've handled that before commiting the subdivisions. I remade that part in max, and it's not hard to fix, nut involves removing quite a few loops. Those might affect other area's and the general density, so I'd just leave it.

i tryed your shader but it did something kinda nuts to me. for any planar surface it kinda set the lighting all the way to 100% making any surface at 90* to the light source 100% white.. which sucked :P if you want i can post a ss or am i just forgetting something really simple?
