Thanks!) Not a very high polycount, although the object is quite large. The plane was made for foreshortenings in 15-20 meters from it. lod0 = 44416 triangles Yes, planes, like cars, usually have a high polycount, due to the bends of the surfaces)

I would say 20-25k tris would be fine but beyond that it's a bit much for where we're at right now. Your bake looks excellent but I'm more concerned about the two 2k maps. Thats huuge!

Hey guys. As of 20 minutes ago, I'm brand spanking new to this site! I am keen to do any environmental and asset modelling/texturing that we'll need. I've been looking for a collab project for a long time.
i also read on the luxology forums that rendering is like up to 20% slower in this release. not that it would affect me much as a game artist, but for everyone this is a big issue. might just be something that'll get fixed soon, tho
I ended up smoothing a lot of the detail as someone I know told me that he didn't look 20's and closer to 40's, from there I just went in and began detailing and this is where i'm at now.
Well, Maya also has a backup function while crashing. It tries to save your files, but it puts on the temp folder of your system. You can grab the .ma file there. 20% of the times tho you wont be that lucky.
