not much progress just created a sort of map: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5Y2d2ZwAAs next is doing the actual models but i'm struggling to plan out a modular approach cheers!
Hello! Finished this modular set of pipes. 1x2048 texture: Also, shelves (1x2048 texture too): Thanks for everyone for commenting so far! It makes all the difference =)
Hey, thanks! I've gotten the basics down. Tiling needs to be adjusted on the wooden ties and the rail spikes, but I've otherwise got a modular rail setup.
Hey all, here is a modular cabinet I made. I will revisit the textures when I make more progress in that room :) https://www.artstation.com/artwork/1kOYo
Really cool, I like the sculpted stone textures and their modular usage - look forward to seeing textures on the next bits, and maybe some further lighting work?
yeah its the frame for a bridge with windows, I am doing it in modular pieces. I then probably have to make a light map for it to since it's being put into udk
If you have a modular set that will often be seen together, then yes, one texture is good. The UV's can be per object, to re-use appropriate parts of the texture.
Oh and if you missed I made two tutorials previously on modular meshes: http://www.philipk.net/tutorials/modular_sets/modular_sets.html And, http://www.philipk.net/tutorials/modular_rocks/modular_rocks.html
Thanks, I'll be working on a tutorial once it's complete. What are do you feel would be best to show? Lighting, texturing, modular building, water effects, snow?
