Alright! so I managed to redo the entire forge model and this is the completed blockout. In between I created two materials that will be used within the scene. I'm still learning the basics of Substance Designer and if there are suggestions, I'm more than happy to hear them out.
Picked this project back up again and realized I had lost half my blockout somehow! Not too much to worry about, got it all fixed and ready to proceed. I am trying to do some more modular pieces, so not all the furniture will be bespoke like in reality.
so im totaly burnt out on the torso for the moment, im going to move onto other parts for the time being. very rough blockout of the arms, legs. just took an older model's stuff and threw it in there and killed the higher levels. the character is supposed to be agile so interpret that as you will.
Lookin' good! That wall section next to the second level (right next to where the stairs are) seems a little empty. Apart from that, I understand this is a blockout phase, so it is a little early to crit. Keep it up though! When can we expect some hi-poly work? :)
Not much to see at the moment, but I started on the blockout for the console today. It's pretty straightforward at the moment because the texture of the original one is the most descriptive of form so far. The center console is separated into two separate pieces, front and back, because the two sides are supposed to slide…
Ok taking earlier advice, I did another blockout of the scene to get an understanding of hat it'll look like and it did help since I now have an idea for how to walls will look like. I also made the heads for the walls Model ref:from the Zhufbar entrance
Might make it faster in Maya, but just focusing on planes, don't do extrusions until you absolutely have to? I found it was easier to manage mentally and physically if I just left very eraly blockouts as plane. Enough information to know what's going on in the space, but less work.
Im gonna be using scan data I captured of myself as a base for my pilot. I heavily decimated the body scan to start blocking out the gear placement. I'm gonna do a refined blockout in zbrush later, but this is still almost concepting. thread in my sig! VVVVV
Still fighting with this. Have really changed the upper half of the chest and where the trousers meet with the boots. I've brought down the subdivision of the jacket/skirt as I just can't get it right even in blockout form. Once I get those right I'll work on the folds etc.
Overmarvelous - hm, yes :/ I suppose he would. I did overlook that when designing! D: ahaha Thank you Mr. Nitewalkr. jeffro - max blockout haha. all except for the bridge. which might explain its terrible perspective T_T And here's a little painting!
