pretty old thread but its still on the frontpage of pc. anyway, i remember when u first posted that thingie with some nice tuts too, (saved it) http://www.mutantspoon.com/portfolio/hpgun.jpg i REALLY like it and was wondering if u have any updates on it? or any more similar stuff?
Hotel Des Arts -nice hotel, good prices, good location. If you are into jeans check out Self Edge on Valencia. Musee Mecanique has a great collection of old mechanical penny machines (Zoltar!!!!) and early video games, and it's a short walk away from the submarine. There's a MoMA too.
very cool of you jesse--wish I'd thought of it when I parted ways with my old graphire a few months back. Graphires aren't too expensive, but to a student or recent grad or hobbyist every penny counts. And graphires are freaking tanks--those things last for forever! Kudos!
Thanks for the crits. I was going for an old painted metal look with some rust coming through, but the colors are too similar to distinguish the difference. I will rework the texture. Alloa: Beautiful paint over! I have a new direction to take the colors now. Thank you both for your input!
Have u guys realized that the texture quality is really low in workshop viewer? the in game quality is a lot better and I have a "barely-medium" graphic card (Geforce GT 730). Aside from the quality I think the workshop-ingame-view is using an old texture for the ground too.
The tables and chairs seem out of proportion of the rest of the scene. (too large). I'd agree about the lighting, it's a bit blown out over the tables and chairs on the right. I'd make your main focal point the counter. This is screaming for one of those old metal cash registers all copper.
Sorry if that came off a bit hostile. I'm a little too used to writing up huge explanations, like the waviness thing, only to have a bunch of people come in and say "oh but shouldn't you just paint it out instead?", it gets a little tiresome man. /Cranky old man
Daaamn Milly, your handpainted stuff is rad - I also thought it was just a painting at first. Did you model these characters too? Will they be rendered with flat lighting for the final presentation? Looks like Runescape has changed quite a bit since I was 10 yrs old.... Keep it up :)
Update 3.5 is available ! :) Download : http://www.froyok.fr/maya/froRetopo35.zip Manual : http://www.froyok.fr/blog/2013-06-maya-froretopo-3-4-a-fast-and-easy-retopology-script (Old version, I don't have enough time right now to update the manual too) Changelog :
It's possible. I've got Terranova and SystemShock1 from Looking Glass running fine on Win7-64. If you're having trouble with a particular game - see if there's any help available over on VOGONS.org (Very Old Games On New Systems). You can get quite a few on gog.com now too.
