biofrost, well that's the idea, this isn't Hammer it seems, it's some kind of simplified editor to quickly prototype ideas. Looking forward to seeing how well this does, I wouldn't mind some more coop Portal 2 levels to play!
For plank variation play with the Lumicance variation values. You can easily use levels to crunch values if you want black and white masks. You can use blends and all sorts of tricks to make different masks quickly.
A sneak peek at a Lighting-centric thing I'm working on - I'm quickly making very modular parts of a designer fashion "flagship" store, and lighting them fairly close to reality, but a tiny bit exaggerated and within reasonable technical parameters:
Good idea. Already made a summary post in my own thread so I can have something that I can access quickly. Here is my (what I wish would be a) submission in case anyone cares. :P
Thanks alot fore the advice. Textures are quickly becoming the most difficult part of the process. The light model on the pipes is phong. I'm multiplying the highlight onto a blurred noisy texture reflection so that the reflected highlights appear to be be lighting the surface.
Accidentally uploaded an older turnaround so I quickly fixed that. JadeEyePanda, thanks for the imgur suggestion and the off-hue idea. Color is a weak area for me so if someone could suggest some colors to go with I would be grateful.
It works perfectly, thank you!, and yup I am using blended normals, without it she looks like some sort of cake faced monster. I'll check out the manual, I downloaded it but only quickly glanced over it.
thx, throttlekitty, will have to try that out. :) just quickly checked the maps (in 3dcoat) from the xnormal bake to the lowpoly...no diffuse paint yet, just normal and AO: attack of the killer phallic-check (1-2, check, check)! :poly122:
Holy shit thanks for the feedback guys, very helpful!! Heres a lil animation i knocked up quickly, "Save target as" the image... I was lazy so i ripped the texture from the painting on my websites splashpage haha.
"Your practically running a Xbox 360... Amazingly it prices around 550-600$ " So that would be 1200$ for an xbox360 equivalent? That shit better get cheaper real quickly, otherwise i see consoles taking over the market entirely.
