Nice! I would suggest to make all armor pieces and belts in polygon modeling software instead of zbrush, and then add damage, ornaments, etc., in zbrush. At least it would work for me :) Also, maybe he need some cloth hanging behind those hanging armor pieces on the hips? Good luck! -

Amazing work! My friend and I are debating weather the geo is modified at all for the specific objects and where it has damage, I say that isn't the case. I think it's using vertex blending and tessellation. My friend thinks it might be vertex blending and parallax mapping. Could you please enlighten us? -

I think the trouble, for me, is that it looks like someone came through with a grime sprayer and put a nice even coat over the entire thing. There's no "story" to the dirt or scratches, they're just ... there. The material response on the spec looks good but I would definitely spend more time on what is damaged/dirty and… -

Looking great! As mentioned above, the pauldrons could use some more work to look more like damaged metal than wood. There's something off to my eye about the fabric on the sleeve, perhaps consider taking down some of the creasing details in the sleeve, especially since the fabric seems to be more structured. -

Here's the wire.. nothing special.. this tree was made for close contact.. So it's little heavy on poly.. I'll post some in-game screen soon.. Must say that making vegetation is quite heavy-brain-damage stuff :) ) MUST look good and MUST run smooth in ANY case.. then I think it's good.. -

I think you meant "damaged" instead of nudged. Thirding is a method that might help here, depending on the interior pattern. http://wiki.polycount.com/CategoryEnvironmentTexturing?highlight=%28thirding%29 For a few more shader instructions, a modulation shader can give you a lot of variation.… -

cool, i like that you did the case too. materials feel a little too plain IMO, they don't necessarily need damage, but every surface does have some sort of pattern or noise to it. the model has really sharp edges too which makes the lighting not react how i expect. -

@ tweekedgirl, hey thanks! yea, that's going to be my "polish" phase, adding more damage and history to the other weapons, the shield especially. About the topology, yea, I've seen it done both ways, wasn't sure if there was a strong reason for one version over the other, would really be interested in hearing your thoughts… -

Just remember that what you do is a skilled job. Pay yourself a professional rate. Look how much a plumber charges just to come round to the house and make a kind of reverse whistling sound on inspecting the damage. In other words, don't pay yourself a Wal-Mart rate just to get work.
