not scaleform. Can't comment on the specifics, but i think it was all done manually. Scaleform came online too late to be integrated into Bulletstorm safely & without complete reworking of existing content. All of the UI used the old UI editor, and some very patient and gifted engineers and artists at PCF. :) -

Thanks for the welcomes -- it's great to see some old friends here. And thanks to everyone that stopped in here for a look. I kind of abstractly knew that there were a lot of people who read this forum, but it did not really register exactly how many there are. Now, where to start -- too many possibilities. -

I would say to myself "You really are never too old to learn, don't give up because you don't 'get it' strait away". I was just getting my first PC back then, purely as a hobby. I just wish I'd gotten into the internet earlier. -

i noticed that too-- lots of games that I can order for 8.99 (new, not used) on amazon cost 19.99 on steam--these are 3, 4 year old games sometimes. The pricing for steam doesn't really encourage you to take a chance on an older game that you've heard was 'decent-but-not-awesome'. -

Yea Alice inspired us too, but our game won't be that freaky, because Alice was just..weird, but still great. We're using Leadwerks 2.0, pretty impressive indy game engine, have a look at their site: http://www.leadwerks.com/ so yeah, no old .bsp anymore for me! -

They count 3d Studio from MS-DOS as 3ds Max? "MAX" was the windows version. I started with kinetix's 3ds Max in windows, 1997 (but i used the ms-dos version too). We are getting old... oh man I used to use a lot Truespace and Lightwave. -

I still think nothing is better that almost 15 years old Creative House Expression. And its so called "skeletal' brush strokes. Too bad Microsoft killed the soft and even made Windows version no more available, Their "Design' attempt is just a castrated original version. -

Currently UE4 editor-cap maxed out at 120fps on a 3 year old laptop. Right now it's hard to tell how the performance of the final product will be, seeing as how there's no actual textures in there. Final product shouldnt be too heavy on the fps though, everything behind the scenes is rather straightforward. -

@tierzilla Thanks, will do my best :) You are right about the secondary forms, I am always a bit hesitant to sculpt too much into female faces because they always end up looking really old for me.. I am finding it hard to find a right balance there.. -

Yup mobile games is your best bet. Keep in mind though...mobile games are advancing too...If your looking to stay in the industry its probably important that you keep up with new techniques/technology, since there just isn't as much demand for old school 3d anymore.
