Hardsurface Assault Helmet
Hey there. So I threw in a quick a hardsurface mask, baked to lowpoly and imported it into Unity. The mesh is mirrored from the middle I notice that the seams on the central vertical axis of the mask appear funny. Is there any way to stop the normals to act wierd in Unity ? Slope based texture painting
Is there a tool in Zbrush/Mudbox/etc. that allows to paint textures based on mesh slope angle? For example, a brush setting that will paint texture only on a surface that has from 0 to 30 degrees slope. I'm making some terrain/mountain assets and it will be very helpful and time saving. Thanks for your comment!! I decided to add some more plant life because of the terrain editor of Unity. It gave me a lot of headaches, I couldn't got it to look better than that. I think the best way to go nowadays would be world machine or the plugin Gaia for unity. The Unity terrain tool seems quite a lot behind… -

Ambershee: that depends entirely on the engine, though! With unity, you most definitely CAN do that. If I update the mesh or textures they will automatically be updated in the engine, whether the game's running or not. It's really an indispensable feature, particularly on complex materials.
