have you tried updating maya? The current version is Maya 2018.4. After updating re create your scene from scratch to see if the problem is gone. -

thats really strange, Xnormal shouldnt be able to do that at all. That sort of thing is usually caused by bad drivers or system updates. It could be a recent microsoft update -

Short update! Finally done with sculpting. Moving onto retopo and UV's. Next update I'll have her maps baked and ready for texturing. -
