I'd have to say the first series is much better than the rest, with hitler and that clown guy. Also I loved the fights they had, using that cheap microphone etc. They did have thier own tv series on scotish TV, but they were only 15 minute episodes and won't have a second series. Basically I love this in the same way as…
Does it list the resolution on the screens? I got one of the Dell XPS m1530's with the 1920x1200 res 15" screens, holy man it's the best. I've ditched the old dual 21" monitors for it simply for the resolution. I'm on board with TeriyakiStyle, having a single screen with dual ports would be more practical. What I would…
Pay attention folks! I just noticed this: Battlefield 1943: Pacific is a download only, multiplayer game for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC The game is scheduled for release this summer with an expected price point between $15 to $20. The download size of the game will be around 350MB That explains a lot. It is…
The only one I know about is Unearthly and well, the results of last years are still not out but at least we've gotten a top 15 so far. The next UC won't be until next year though so eh... maybe we can get some polycount love here? (Although polycount usually does love it's character artists... just a bit to much ;) )

[/ QUOTE ] Now that I have a wife and work, 8 hours seems to be my sweet spot for games. About 15 hours into RE 4, I was thinking to myself "man,…
my boss called me saying i'm not going to be able to use the facilities promised to me for an animation camp starting on monday, pretty pissed since i got the all clear 3 months ago and its all because IT claims it will take the next 2 months to reformat and configure the 15 computers i need. 0.25 computers a day, good…
No idea on a release, but the Betas are fairly solid. I suggest just keeping an eye on their news forum: http://www.silo3d.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=15 Vig - I support it because in my opinion it IS the best organic modelling package out there. It's not a replacement for Max or Maya or XSI or whatever since it lacks…
Games "went linear" like 10-15 years ago as a flippant estimate (perhaps less). Shading and lighting has been done in linear space for a long time now. I don't see much advantage in storing the source textures in linear colorspace (which is what I think you're referring to), but that would definitely complicate pipelines…
dunno if this is what you meant, but here's a quick hacky model job 15 min or so in max. basically started with a box and divided it then extruded out the nubs that made the groove... and then extruded out the side thing ... added some supporting edges and set edge flow on the places that weren't supposed to be hard…
if max ignores hotkeys in certain parts of the app or if pressing them triggers the wrong functions and your keyboard seems to work fine otherwise outside max, check the keyboard shortcut override function. toggling that should solve your problem.…
