Hi, I'm using Maya 2012. I'm trying to simply use the scale tool on a group of vertices. however, they're only scaling along the axis lines... As if I was holding X. How can I fix this?
Hi all, I'm getting a faint dark line where a poly would split into two tris. I have got all the vertices of the poly at identical height, yet still I see the line. Any thoughts?

3d noise nodes require position image/AOV baked for any specific 3d model or you can just merge vertical and horizontal gradients into rgb image and input it into those nodes .
Just a quick question, so the increase in vertices(vertexes) no longer an issue for engines then? or is it just for baking and there is an alt/actual uv map for final, so bake the split, keep that map, return to original u's? Get the vertex normals, and use the Z of it. Thats the up/down direction. Or maybe in Unity, Y is the vertical axis. I'm coming from Unreal where Z is the up.
The model doesn't have enough vertices to support that detail. You will need a massive amount of subdivision to support that kind of detail. Basically, a vertex for every pixel of the original texture.
The environments look amazing. The little horizontal lines against the larger vertical haphazard structures. I'm drooling, again. Dammit! Props to the artists and Art Director. Very impressive!
