By 'grain effect' I'm guessing that'll be the overall noise aesthetic depicted via your image? And AE for example is known for 2d - 3d motion graphics/animation but in my opinion really dependant upon complexity so I'd suggest testing your scene through either a motion graphic, realtime or pre-rendered workflow to see what…
Hey Polycount, I just wrapped up working on this project and wanted to let you all know. There are a lot more renders and even some technical breakdowns for realtime fur on artstation if you are interested. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/v1qNN6 Even though Im stepping away from this project ide still love any cc you…
You will still load an 8bit tga into marmoset, but you will get better results by dithering a 16bit image down to an 8bit image, compared to just baking an 8bit image. Andy Davies talks about it here [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OONQzKcWeMY&feature=share&t=9m30s"]Andy Davies - Normal mapping for games & realtime…

Naw, We've got tools to capture nice cube maps... I have a pretty nice library of HDRI's, and I'm trying to figure out a way to iterate on the lighting in a scene quickly, just to try out different times of day, and play with the mood set by the lighting. I'm basically trying to adapt the techniques I've used in the past…
there is some more information about realtime and ptex... http://developer.amd.com/resources/documentation-articles/samples-demos/gpu-demos/amd-radeon-hd-7900-series-graphics-real-time-demos/ [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYweEn6DFcU"]AMD Leo Demo: AMD Radeon? Yeah I think one of the big points with Fortnight and UE4 is that its 100% dynamic with all the construction/daynight-cycle and so on, and combined with that purrdy realtime global illumination it can probably pull of a really sweet pixar-ish quality rendering if the screenshots are anything to go by : ) I for one is happy…
Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it! I do like the StormWok :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGU-0HU2Sgg&feature=youtu.be Here's a quick render test, trying out the sequencer before I wrap up the scene. Tis always nice to see a little realtime motion :) I plan on rendering the final shot at 4k.
Don't know what to think about it, hope it doesn't change the balance too much, cause Epic seems to be aiming for a strong position in the indie market. One the other hand I've been testing the latest Unity beta and I've lost all hope for it. Enlighten is a complete disaster in terms of workflow and the quality in realtime…
If for a high-end racing game, I would suggest authoring an emissive texture for the interior, and add a transparent cover just for realtime reflections. For the interior of the light, decide which make/model car, then search for replacement parts. Should give you lots of good ref. Notice how there are shiny angled mirrors…
