Looks like a great start to me, I think the pleats on hist pant need some more work though, and none of the fold seem to wrap around to the side. What really bothers me is that his head looks pinched, grab his ears and pull them out a little and see what that looks like.
Love the flying body language... that tail between the legs :) Not sure about the armor though - it seems a little just stuck on there. Maybe look up some references to leather armor... and see how you could make it wrap around the legs, and/or make it like a vest on the chest. Looks pretty good though. Good luck :)
The simple way I know is to do it like your current setup. The Head as a wrap for the eyebrow strip, which has paint effects follicles painted on to it. All you should need for eyebrows is to set the hairsystem's simulation mode to "static". The follicles follow the geometry + normals with nothing flying off, trying to…
I've been searching around the MB 2009 trial threads and there isn't any indication that a wrap mode for brushes has been added : ( *Edit* To clarify what I just said. I was referring only to mudbox. I've seen the zbrush solution and god do I wish mb had incorporated that into the new release.
really cool, remind me of god of war. material IDs is the way to go, but you can always try some other options for the brush. I think tangent wrap is the default, but maybe play around with the other settings and see if it helps. also remenber you can paint flat on the texture sheet as well. (press F1) :)
@GECKO: Thank you =) Yea I try to wrap my mind around the tier choices that valve makes but can not really get a clear indicator of how they actually assign skins to their tier. The best guess I personally can make is: the more different colors / complex pattern a skin has the higher its tier gets.
Hey @Mime, I'm a big fan of that wood style on the shield and the wraps on the sword are looking fantastic! Textures really look like they're coming along nicely, and I think the splash of yellow paint on the shield really helps the prop pop out further. Great work, man! Can't wait to see the final shots.
::voff:: I'm working on a website for my portfolio. Right now, this is my only work online at the moment. ::blitz:: thanks for the encouragement:) ::JonathanF:: that steering wheel was fun. I think i'll revisit tho. I have an idea to make it look more like tied down/wrapped around leather cloth. Thanks! -Phil
if those are supposed to be windows, i would move those white lights down toward the vent looking things or just get rid of them. Also, your paint damage doesn't wrap around edges or just ends with a straight edge and that looks "lazy." You seem to have plenty of ideas for where this is going, so get to it.
By coincidence i was looking for a way to do this last saturday night, i let the idea go because i was tired of playing around with the transform & wrap tools in PS. Too bad this little gem wasn't posted before. I did something else. Many thanks for this, it will be very useful very soon believe me.
