He's using Deep Paint and conjunction with Photoshop in that video to create projections. Deep Paint is discontinued software but still used and liked by many. Photoshop cs4 extended and newer have 3d projection painting built in but alot of people have had problems with it (at least in cs4, havn't heard if its improved in…
Ah, that could be something. It came as a psd and I've tried using the psd and an exported png and it's the same result. From the website it looks like these were done in zbrush. I'm not that familiar with how zbrush works getting sculpts turned into these alpha stamps / maps. Is it possible somewhere in the process some…
Oops, looks like I spoke too soon! Bal let me know it still wasn't working correctly with CS4. Problem solved. I also added the class names for CS4 in the config.ini so you won't have to manually hook it. http://people.happycoders.org/kamih/wordpress/?page_id=46 cheers, kamih
Hey guys someone asked if they could take a look at the PSD so I reduced the resolution and uploaded it. The PSD is fairly raw didn't do much tidy up, hopefully it can be understood. If you have any questions about any of the layers give me a buzz. But anyway, hope it helps.…
What platform is it intended to? I guess, from seeing the size of your maps, it could be minimum PS2 maybe newgen consoles. So I'd advice to make less leafy textures but far more branches(I used to have up to 800polys on ps2), differently oriented, scaled etc... this will undoubtfully give volume to your tree.
I heard from a friend at nvidia a while ago when asking about the 64 bit CS4 plugin, that it would probably not be updated for CS4. my guess is that it wont be updated for CS5 either. Not a big loss though, CrazyBump is 20000000000000000000000000000000000000x better! Xnormal works pretty well too, but crazybump is without…
Normally the 3D ones are a crime against man, but Castlevania: Curse of Darkness for PS2 and Xbox might just be a winner. I've seen a few movies where the main character is leveling up and doing all those nice SotN things. Should be swell, comes out in November stateside.…
BTW, the PAL version of the predecessor EDF2 has been finally released in the UK for 10 pounds last month as Global Defense Force. Any EDF2017 review aware of that game says EDF2/GDF is better than EDF2017. It's for the PS2 and doesn't look as good but it's still impressive to see huge swarms of enemies on the freaking PS2.
Yes, that's normal behavior. Lightmass needs to cast a lot of photons and calculate all the bounces. In order to speed this up a little bit, they have tweaked the amount of photons, distance of photons, number of bounces and many many other features in order to speed it up a bit. The blotches you see is usually either…
