our engine uses "cosine" maps which are pretty much gloss maps, except they take specular intensity and glossiness into account. so instead of dealing with 2 maps, you only deal with 1. -

What's stopping me from taking an image, using this technique, then claiming it's mine? It's the same as stamping your watermark on someone elses work - except that at least you can't stamp a watermark over a watermark. -

small update before going to bed, tweaked a bunch of stuff but everything except for the face are placeholders at the moment, still want to tweak the textures on the face to try and push it further, hopefully will be able to do it this weekend -

Yes thank you! I tried the if statement you mentioned but "if not filePath == NoneType:" wouldn't work. Perhaps I was doing it wrong. The try, except is a good idea, though. I use that quite often.
