Hello, first time poster here and I would appreciate any critique or feedback for this scene. My goal was to learn and do a scene with a trim sheet but I feel theres more that I could do. For props I was thinking pots, towels and furniture. Any feedback or critique is greatly appreciated.
Are you using the clip tools? Slice/trim separate polygroups or mask etc. Clip actually removes it (although actually it just hides it in a separate system and you can un-clip).
Loving this, the texture work is awesome. One thing I would point out though is the transition from the cobbled surface to the bricks on the pier. A little trim would work wonders there. Cheers
Also consider that most alphas appear to be square - thus the effect you're getting there, I do believe. Widen the trim's canvas so that it's square, and you might get better results.
Long time no update! We were very busy showing games off at an indie games festival! Anyway Here's an update from me, a Pink trim, new brick and a canopy.
I like the front of the shield, but the outer metal trim looks too noisy. maybe break it up and add some variation along it so it doesn't look like 1 overlay.
Tile the base material using a 512 or 1k, then layer the panel gaps, borders, inset hole punched panels, and the little circle details with decals from a 512 or 1k trim sheet.
Thanks for the tips guys! I'll try and trim it more and see what i get :) Practice makes perfect after all :D Hope to put it on workshop by sun-down :D
SWEET!!! I'd personally go with design 3 with the incluion of the mask from design 2 with some red trim or what have you. All in all strong design with a good silhouette.
