Hi Rikard! Take this with a grain of salt (I'm a noob at this stuff) but I still think the cloth pieces need some work. They look very papery to me and not very "fabric-y." I think it might be a combination of a little too much specular with the large amount of small wrinkles. The plating looks fantastic though!
You need to invert the green channel (commonly refered to as flipping) as Xnormal bakes Green/Y Axis in the opposite direction as Max or UDK expects(you can adjust this with the swizzle setting in Xnormal). In your screenshot, you're not only getting seam issues, but the lighting is totally broken, which means invert green…
http://www.vimeo.com/23980967 so i made this a few weeks ago for some people in my one of my classes. I know youve got a material down but you might be interested. its no big deal and its not really supposed to even be a tutorial but i thought i would share :P (Y)
It should be fine, unless you signed a non-compete agreement. It'll usually be pretty clear in your contract if there's a non-compete clause. It'll typically say that you can't work in X industry for a company that is in the same field / competition in Y countries. But states like California don't recognize that at all and…
Strong line up for workshops and talks as always (Y) Also, loving the interior scene. I do feel the lighting would have been better if you followed it closely to your reference movie screenshots @BenjaminJohn ... but that's all down to personal preference, I generally prefer dimmed candle lit settings haha
Same old shit happens. Have the scientists thought it might a cosmic screw up or something along those lines when the earth gets to a certain point in its orbit something science-y happens.(yeah its late) / Magnetic field screwing up a sensitive bird?/ Shot in the dark anyway haha.
Hey zigzag, There is an offset option in the filters menu which allows you to move your texture in X or Y axis. On the other hand the new versions of PS (cs 6) has a tiling plane similar to what you can find in mudbox which (I guess) you can find in the 3d menu.
I really love the sculpt you've done, but the textures don't really do it justice. The diffuse needs more love put into it and I think the stand is really bland. I would make the stand not perfectly circular and maybe put some star wars-y type of debris on there to add interest, just a thought ;)
Make sure you include any specific requirements, like X number of observational drawings of objects, Y number of figure drawings. Spend the time to create these things to a good level of quality if you don't have them already. There's a reason they look for candidates with a certain level of skill in art before they admit…
uv's looking better but the actual axe blade on the model looks a little soft, try pulling it away from the model a little more and maybe change the smoothing so you get a hard edge.. sorry for gibberish post im in a rush :D but yeh over all its looking better dude (y)
