Digital tutors is really cheap. 3d motive is also cheap. I doubt it Aspergers that is stopping you from learning zbrush. A lot of art students only do what teaches tell them to do, I doubt the teachers have magical methods for you to learn zbrush so start now. 1st problem: You just need to penetrate the geometry into the wall an inch, that way it creates an intersection, and the renderer sees the intersection.
