i haven't looked at setup machine, as we didn't want to spend any money. it looked easy to handle in the promo videos, but not so much better then ABRig or HumanIK used the ABrig, which is really easy to setup and has all features you need including stretchy bones. pplus it's quite simply to adjust as it's all based on…
@pixelpatron Thanks! And great feedback. One of the bigger lessons I've learned when creating this environment is that using props of varying size is important to make the beholder understand the scale of everything. In my case, i had lots of bigger props, but forgot to include objects of smaller size. As you say, using…
Great find! Hard to read the part on Ouroboros though, with that shoddy translation. I do find "Anbientookuryujon" hilarious :D MoP- exactly. These Japanese studios really do things very professionally, but insight into their pipelines seems limited to only these features on softimage's site. I remember being amazed by…
Mmm thread necromancy. Due to time constraints and other similarly limiting issues, I am currently working on this strictly as an environment for my portfolio. Hopefully in the near future I can return to game development, but for the time being I think art needs to take precedence. I'd like to think I'm about to wrap it…
I do intend to pursue a career in games. I'm currently stuck on personal issues that I will not elaborate on at this time. I have the skill and talent, but not the experience. I may be offering the same ideas about IP, but it's because I see the same old thing again on the other side of the fence. That's as far as I will…
What I mean is the Subject matter, the photo itself is messy and dont have any defined shapes, which makes it a harder to try to paint and replicate. for example if you are struggeling with perspective, its hard enough to draw just a bunch of simple geometric objects right, taking on something like this is simply overkill.…
Everyones said most of what there is to say I think. But I will say that being under a tight time constraint also helps u learn to manage time better and not sit and dink around with little details or whatever. I tend to mass out stuff first, but I hop around the model when I get bored of a section or feel its far enough…
well the way i envisioned it... was to show a progression of culture as the tower built up in layers... meaning the bottom part would be the oldest and the top would be the newest... like it took many generations to complete... however time constraints have sorta limited what I can do in that regard. I still don't think…
Check the size of the individual model's area of lightmap being used. The model may be using a very tiny portion of the lightmap if the scale of the model is too small. Set your "Indirect Resolution" to 0.1 and your render times will speed up a lot. 20 1024 lightmaps for that scene is a lot and I would take a look at the…
Alright, I apologise for not updating this thread in a while. I was quite busy with my assignments and this project didn't exactly go as planned. I have decided to cut out the palace due to time constraints. Here's the final video I had submitted today (looks better in 720p): [ame]…
