perhaps try drawing just the chick underneath, sans armor to nail down the pose. right now it's very stiff and awkward looking and disproportional. yeah, cloth leggings might be the way to go. -

Yeah, I use Max all the time for making collision models and exporting. Modo+headusUV+crazybump+xnormal for everything else. I'm pretty happy with my workflow, sans Max :P -

Show us your reference photos you were using of your son. This is off, but I don't know what what it's off relative to. Biggest thing missing is the philtrum underneath the nose. -

Roper? Seriously? OMG I hope they solve all the issues with their bloated/bugged software. Modo had instant load back in 2007 with a simple HDD, but in these last versions it takes minutes on a SSD.
