So far my girlfriend bought me 4 shirts from some of my favorite bands (Alice Cooper, Metallica, Iron Maiden and Guns N Roses) and a Blurr Transformers figure I had been looking for. :)
I must be doing something wrong, I followed the documentation but still this isn't working properly. I'm way off 0,0,0 and so I'm trying to get topological symmetry going. It works fine for component selections, but nothing else (tools, transforms)
Well . . . there was an idea with the early thumbnails to have one of the arms amputated and replaced with what was essentially a robo arm that could transform into various "tools" as needed, but the design of that arm being sleek and Elvish instead of the basic gritty, grime gunmetal.
Ah I see. Thanks very insightfull. I wasn't sure if I could delete the transformation nodes. Thanks for confirming. Coming from Max. Maya is not easy to learn, very technical. But thanks again for the insightfull post!
miauu's Spline Deformer is updated to version 1.1 Changelog: -- added ability to save and restore the shape of transformed Editable_Poly object during the manipulation with the spline. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVWEnxy1mIk"]Watch video demonstration[/ame]
So, here is first demos. Placing kitbash piece on curved surface, transforming and merging. Pay attention to properties panel(Face groups and Mesh states lists). Demo1 https://youtu.be/j4K-wCUb2sQ Demo2 https://youtu.be/3-nMtiMALM0
I use the spaceball, keyboard, mouse combo and I second the mouse with many buttons. however, the g600mmo/naga is to me huge overkill. I prefer the logical placement of buttons on the g700. The top three buttons use for transformations.
I am extremely happy right now as I have solved several problems today including this one. Here is the correct algorithm. If anyone needs help with vector field transformations, I am very happy to help. :)
Oh, yeah, in that way it could actually be pretty cool, something like that with different styles could be cool. The question from that would then be, would this be changed with gems? like there's a transformation gem that could unlock different styles on items? or what?
Pull both of the models into a 3D program and scale the lowpoly to fit the highpoly. They don't have to be 100% equal, but they should be pretty much the same size. When you export them make sure your transforms are zerod out.
