Here is the final for the Floating Capital, I think it could've been better but I need to move on. I did learn a LOT! from this and I'm already applying those skills to the next environment.
Nice dude, i have a beef with that chandelier though. If it were only hanging on by those two ropes it really ought to be hanging vertically, right now it's kinda floating impossibly in mid air.
heheh yeah that was done purposely. and you are probably going to roll your eyes on this one but part of the background this environment was created on is that the world this takes place on has its landmass partially floating in the sky.
there is no real hi-res. Its different individual bakes often based on floating geo and in several different passes etc. but here is how it looks with "baked" normal only on the low-res mesh:
Nice work-around Alex. If you offset your pivot from the mesh a tiny bit it should be relatively easy to place these floating off of walls/floors using the S-click shortcut.
Looks nice but you really need to do something about the red part in the concept.I'm guessing it's cloth but it really doesn't look like that. Plus the fact that it is floating just puts everything off.
I don't know how legal this is but I found these special Infected models floating around. Strictly for learning purposes only of course. kubEdit: removed the link due to potential legal issues.
Theres a collection of 4c shorts floating around that are fucking rad too; [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yMrOcaDZJM&feature=related[/ame] I'm a total sucker for anime and prettys T_T
I'd definitely make the chains straighter, they look like they're floating a bit. The space in the links don't suggest they are tangled, looks like theres room for movement/gravity. Lots of potential in this scene.
Rebuilt the cabinet to be match the style of the rest of the scene better~ Gonna start working on small props again, got this little book stand and magic floating pencil done today
