Hopefully it's easier to use for non CS majors - I've got years of very hands on computer repair experience, I have no problem fixing & customizing every flavor of Windows, OS9, OSX even OS/2 Warp... I've tried out Linux distros on a yearly basis for almost 15 years and it's still baffeling. -

You can display the triangle count by enabling "Statistics". Re: How much time do you take prepping before modeling?
I just gather enough reference that I have a clear picture of the direction I'm going, and I go. The time that takes depends; for a small prop, probably ten minutes or less. For a big mechanical prop, probably 15 minutes to 30 minutes. For a whole environment, it's more as I go, and it usually takes a bit longer.
