Can you show the wireframe? It looks like you have individual poly quads overlapping. Or maybe some strange UVs and strange topology. -

Yeah its way to high. Show a wireframe of the model. I think around 1 or 2 maybe even 3k max for a prop like that. -

What was said above, but there's a plugin that (among other things) will do essentially take your wireframe and turn it into a mesh pattern with one click. LINK -

You can make a wireframe texture like this: in Hypershade > Edit > Create PSD Texture > check the Include UV Snapshot is that what you mean?
