Looking really neat so far! I especially like the Tsuba. The scratches look a bit too similar and evenly spaced along the blade. I'd try to add some more variety to the damage. It's still a hundred times better than anything I've made though. :)
I like your model and textures a lot. That said I think the damage and dirt accumulation is a little overkill based on your reference. Another thing that's bothering me at the moment is how the bullet belt is hanging. It's a little stiff I think based on the references I saw.
This is refreshing, the foliage and bricks are good, but the telephone box defiantly needs work, its not reading as metal, also get some damage on there too, rust/peeled paint. Its really nice other than that but you got to sort the textures out on the phonebox as its a focal point.
If you wanna make such a graffiti on such a small object you'd need an aerograph to do that and this would take a lot of time. One big tag should do the thing... BTW. you missed a lot of details that can be seen on such an object (hole at the bottom, hooks, some nice damage).
The result of this evening (besides fighting a bit with Renderman) Still WIP but relatively pleased with this pass. Im looking for going with a bronze/brass armour that has been heavily chipped and battle damaged. Including patches of dried blood. Again, any criticism or comment is more than welcome
Alright, I'm considering the gun done: Changes since last time: - Fixed all the baking problems I had (mostly small but still) - Made the damage and dirt more consistent I'll start working on baking the plaque next unless someone finds a problem with the gun.
Very sexy. It seems you could skip doing a basic damage/wear pass in Zbrush for some assets. Really excited to try the beta of this program. Do the multilayer brushes do normals? Or would you simply work with a heightmap and covert that to normal when you're done?
Oooh, good idea, and nice photos! A beach close to where I live, there was an abnormally high high tide that morning and most of the beach got washed away. There was also some damage to the nearby houses and some roads got washed away. That's me on the heap of sand oops
Good stuff. The architecture has good flow, even though it's not coming off as really deco to me, its subtle. Almost too subtle but it works. As far as materials, I recommend a decal sheet for grunge, damage and dirt, perhaps an atlas that covers your entire structure.
I'm an idiot. Thank you. I just double-clicked the texture in the generic browser, heh. I kept thinking I had to look for that setting on import. Looks like -1 is all I need. Is setting higher damaging? Also would "NeverStream" improve anything?
