Thanks guys! More giraffe coming in a not too distant future! Did some good old poly-by-poly modeling tonight. Trying to get this to look like someone. Going ok so far, but something is rather off.
well they hadnt too much to show, but the ingame mockup thingy on the kickstarter site looked really good it looks like one of the old rpg ´s you played on the snes only with nicer graphics i really like this
it's still white with black. I don't even care where it's from it still represents a goth emo jerk to me. too bad ase downloads as an install, since that it's pretty impossible to keep an old non-yahoo'd version
What is wrong with Snake's mustache!? You want him to have a goatee or something? He's old, obviously not healthy. If he wants a Tom Selleck, let him have one! But yeah, doesn't look too good :P
[ QUOTE ] i felt like a cunt watching the trailer, let alone queueing for the cinema dickhead porn for wankers [/ QUOTE ] aren't you the same guy who said 300 was the worst movie of the year? you are too old
I'm not interested in the old technique, I've experienced too much pain working that way, so glad we don't have to do that anymore. But you can read about it here https://polycount.com/discussion/comment/2698476/#Comment_2698476
I feel the underside of this roof bit is far too shiny and clean compared to the rest of the scene. Also, an old rusted broken down vehicle would do this scene wonders. Oh, also maybe some garbage inside the building.
5/1/2010 WIP: Old Man Bust Using this bust as an exercise in wrinkles and skin sculpting. Wanted to make a face that has more character. Next is the eyes and facial hair, might give him some headgear too!
You don't really need to draw to be a character artist. Drawing skills don't make you better all of a sudden in sculpting and other stuff, but they can certainly help. There's also no such thing as "too old" for this stuff, everybody starts somewhere.
There's also the "box trick"(I'm not sure if there is a better name for it). Where you create a box, align it to your old objects, then attach the problem object to it then delete the box element. That usually works for clearing out any bad data too.
