LordEsther, try googling modular modelling. That's just one mesh right? Alot of stuff in a church is usually repeating (except for statues). So try to repeat what you can. ex. Floors Walls windows Chairs Candlelights Rug Panels etc etc
Went as i felt like it, from start to end. Added shapes that I felt were fitting, lighting that I felt worked etc etc. All in all, a 40 minute exercise, just to warm me up to good ol' photoshop + tablet
Looks good , I am about to make too a snow environment but on Cryengine and I have to plan severall snow types , are you planning too different snow textures for terrain? like ice , fresch snow , walked upon snow etc etc?
If you're going to have an obviously tiled brick then you need to cover up the obvious tiling patterns with pipes, airducts, ladders, windows, decals, grime etc etc. :) Good work so far though! I really like the blockouts! Looks awesome.
by chuncks of area, i mean, all the objects in section (say a hallway or room) can be within a container, then use colour co-ordination or layers to control types of object Eg. all trees in one layer all the ground objects in another etc etc
I've had one since about september, the windows XP version. It's a great little lightweight, mobile computer. I used to bring it to work with me, carry it around the office etc. Very capable video and music player, good for taking notes, etc.

Unfortunately, the answer to all of those questions is "it depends". What are your goals? Conservation of UV space? Do you want a uniquely textured prop? Are you using tiling textures? Etc, etc. Basically, all of those methods are valid depending on what the end goal is...
