Great stuff. Seeing this is especially cool for me - you seem specialized in same areas as myself and you eventually got to work on both of them. on second screen i find it weird that only one bolt has a decal below it, that's nitpicking though.
getting there with all the detailing now, still need to stamp on the decals. Need to sort the plastic transparency bits out too, theyre still using default glass so they just look wrong. Then its time to set up a scene and some lighting.
i think the insignia on the tabard is too finely detailed. perhaps simplifying the shapes in the decal will make it read better at smaller sizes. also, i think black is too much, i'd lower the contrast. but, i like the art style. excellent work.
Another set of Wips The changes in this environment were mostly gameplay (added jump pads and connected two rooms vertically) and lighting related (increased the intensity of coloured lights darkened the hallways). Biggest visual addition is some decals on the walls, pillars and doors.
For something like that you would want to use a floater decal. SO you would take the text off the wing and put it onto a flat plane with some alpha mapping for the text and then lay that over the top of the wing where the text would go.
Looking at it again...the magazine is also kind of questionable "It looks like it can only hold 5 rounds" which a regular service pistol can carry more... On the side note the design looks awfully similar to a Scorpion just that with some decals and plates.
youd have to make it matte black paint. some big scratched decals on the side and hood. roll cage with fabric netting. the roll cage would surround the cabin and then in the back it would be a bit higher for a machinegun turrent placement. offroad tires too!
@efwfew16 I think your scene has come out great! I took a short break from the environment and given myself the end of March to finish. Here are some progress images: My next goal is to redo the walls with some better vertex painting and decals.
His Artstation says he lives in Damascus and wants to get in the CG industry, I think there are... several major pointers as that would point to him wanting to relocate. ;) --- Honestly your portfolio is amazing, that jet engine has been in my reference folder since 2016 thinking it was a real jet engine. Yeah if I had to…
Decals, vertex painting, post processing. Labels/symbols on the tanks and the cold thing to symbolize cold so whatever it is people can understand its supposed to be cold. Also make a focal point with the lighting, currently the lighting in there is pretty regular across the whole composition.
