Even the default import/export should work (as it does for programs that don't have official GoZ yet).

you need EMB cavity in order to produce wood grain ( usually use default setting in xnormal)

Maybe you're looking at shaded (default hotkey '5') instead of textured mode in the viewport (hotkey '6')?

Also the edit button is only selectable for custom commands, you can not edit the command for the default commands.
